The FLAMES Kernel, the standard
applications, and the FLAMES options are
completely independent of the behavior of any particular type of real-world
system. This is because the state and behavior of systems are not simulated
in FLAMES®
but rather in models that "plug" into FLAMES. This allows FLAMES
to be used to create nearly any type of simulation that models almost
any type of system.
In order to make FLAMES useable when it is first installed, FLAMES is supplied
with a wide variety of example models. These models provide the functionality
required to support the demonstration and tutorial scenarios that are
described in the FLAMES documentation. More importantly, these models
can often meet many of your modeling requirements or serve as the starting
point for your custom model development. Development configurations of
FLAMES include the source code to all example models.
Like FLAMES, the example models reduce the amount of custom software development
you have to do and help you get the simulation you need quickly and inexpensively.
