October 5, 2012 – Ternion Corporation was selected to be part of a General Dynamics C-4 Systems-led team that will be building up to four Engineering Development Models and nine Limited Deployment Units of the Processing and Display/Sensor Data Subsystem (PDS/SDS) for Increment 1, Phase 2 of the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S). The General Dynamics-designed subsystem will be smaller and more energy-efficient, and will increase the mobility and agility of Marines operating on land, in the air and at sea. Ternion Corporation’s FLAMES Development Suite provides the commercial-off-the-shelf components that will be used to develop the CAC2S embedded simulation and training capability. This capability will allow CAC2S operators to conduct in-garrison training using organic systems without the need for additional equipment or personnel. Ultimately, this collaboration will reduce training and logistics support costs.
The General Dynamics-led team also includes Fulton, Maryland-based Raytheon Solipsys; Smartronix, Inc., of Stafford, Virginia; and Ultra-Electronics Systems of San Diego, California.
