Huntsville, AL – November 17, 2003 – Ternion Corporation is pleased to announce the release of FLAMES, version 5.1.1 . Due to requests by our valued customers, we’ve added a new development license product to provide FLAMES developers with more flexibility. We’ve also made a few adjustments and enhancements to 5.1. If you currently have FLAMES version 5.1 installed, you may download 5.1.1 updates without changing your license files.
New FLAMES 5.1.1 Product:
FLAMES Shared Development License – The new shared development license allows FLAMES-based application development on a computer that is on the same network as a computer on which node-locked development products are installed. No development products are installed on computers licensed for shared development. Rather, these computers access FLAMES node-locked development products over the network.
Any number of computers on the same network can be equipped for FLAMES-based application development by purchasing a single node-locked development product for one computer and shared development products for all other computers.
The primary advantage to shared development licenses is cost. The new shared development products cost substantially less than node-locked development products.
New FLAMES 5.1.1 Changes:
- FACT Importer Enhancement – The FLAMES Advanced Correlated Terrain (FACT) Importer has been improved to allow it to correctly import shapefiles that contained data for more than 100 tiles per block.
- Improvements to FEarth Functions – The accuracy of some of the FEarth functions has been improved. Your scenario results using Version 5.1.1 of FLAMES may differ from those of Version 5.1 because of these improvements.
- Improvements to Munitions Flight Algorithms – The flight algorithms used in the FQMPassiveAAM, FQMSemiActiveAAM and FQMSemiAcriveSAM munitions models have been modified to allow the munitions to follow their targets more closely. Your scenario results using Version 5.1.1 of FLAMES may differ from those of Version 5.1 because of these improvements.
- Corrections to FTerrainIsMasked and FTerrainCheckIntersection – The FTerrainIsMasked and FTerrainCheckIntersection functions in the Digital Terrain option have been modified to correct an error that could lead to an application crash. In addition, both of these functions have been improved to execute much more quickly.
